More Bad News For Customers As British Gas Announces Record Energy Price Hikes

August 27, 2004 -- Today’s price rise is British Gas’ second price rise this year, and means that customers are now paying £145.54* more than last year for their gas and electricity. Tim Wolfenden, product manager at www.uSwitch.com comments, “Today’s price rise by British Gas represents the highest across the board price increase seen in the industry since competition was introduced.
“British Gas may well have overestimated the strength of its customers’ loyalty. Faced with the second significant price rise in less than a year, customers are likely to vote with their feet – which will have a significant impact on their business.”
